The work of this Discussion Group aims to provide practical recommendations on enhancing SME investment readiness to strengthen the impact of the I3 projects. It will explore two complementary thematic blocks:
Block 1: Understanding the challenges of I3 Projects in the transition to follow-up finance
This block examines the challenges that I3 projects face in transitioning towards new products or ventures in the market. The focus is on analysing the innovation projects and the difficulties SMEs encounter in successfully bridging the valley of death in I3 projects.
Block 2: Improving I3 projects to better strengthen SMEs’ investment readiness
This block examines how I3 projects can better support companies to carry projects into the market, especially in less developed regions. The discussions will focus on the ways to face identified barriers at project design and implementation stages.
