At the end of October, EURADA hosted a webinar for the I3 Support Facility on how the I3 Instrument enables regional development agencies to foster industrial transition and reinforce local economies.
The session showcased the value of I3 as a tool that finances interregional initiatives aligned with European strategic priorities. Through I3, regions can modernise industries, diversify economic activity, and integrate more strongly into European value chains. Speakers also emphasised that the mechanism allows agencies to act not only as project implementers but also as innovation brokers that connect stakeholders across territories.
Three successful examples were presented by EURADA members:
- North East Regional Development Agency and the RegioGreenTex initiative in the textile sector
- Agence Bretagne Next with the HIGHFIVE project in the agri food sector
- Ticbiomed with HealthChain in digital health
Speakers Ioana Agatha Filimon, Helene Morin, and Myriam Martín Delgado shared their experience in managing I3 projects and illustrated the impact of regional collaboration.
The discussion reaffirmed that regional development agencies are central to the roll out of I3 projects, linking enterprises, funding tools, and innovation ecosystems with practical results at regional and European level.
