LIGAWINE (Low Input Grapegrowing and Winemaking) aims to enhance the sustainability, climate resilience, and competitiveness of the European wine sector by accelerating the adoption of low-input, environmentally friendly, digitally enabled, and resource-optimising innovations in viticulture and winemaking, with a strong focus on less developed regions across Europe.
The project has launched one Open Call with two strands, providing Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) to technology providers and wineries. The Open Call will support the testing, adaptation, and validation of innovative solutions addressing key challenges such as reduced chemical inputs, resource efficiency, digital decision-support, and low-impact winemaking processes.
Funded activities may include applied pilot trials, deployment of near-market technologies, process optimisation, and real-world validation in vineyard and winery settings. Through this Open Call, LIGAWINE seeks to foster cross-regional collaboration, support business viability and replicability, and generate transferable solutions that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient European wine ecosystem.
